  1. I have a 2000 BMW 523i E39 MT52/TU engine. The speedometer and fuel flow sporadically drops to Zero, and miles cease to accumulate. All other indicators (i.e. RPM, etc) and LEDs continue to work. Do I have a speed sensor issue, or instrument cluster issue? Where is the speed sensor? Is it attached to the transmission housing? I am also showing an ABS light. Do wheel speed sensors play a role?

    • The speedometer dropping to 0 is a function of a failing rear-left wheel speed sensor. It’s bolted to the wheel carrier/hub. This would also cause the ABS, DSC, and BRAKE warning lights on the dash. The fuel level gauge going to zero is a bad fuel level sender, located in the fuel tank.

  2. Good morning Ryan,
I have read you entire article and watched you video on the V32 modified software update. I do it the exact same way as you show but when I go to burn the cue image file in imgburn it says the file does not exist even though it says it’s 1k. I have deleted the download and re downloaded it several times and always pops up file does not exist I even tried it on another computer and transferred it over with a USB card and it still says it does not exist. Can you please help me. Oh and I even tried the stock V32 but when I open that one there is no cue file.
    Thank you

    • This is a bizarre issue. I have referenced these files many times, and, following my own instructions, never had any issues like that. I can only advise that you really take it one step at a time and make sure every single step and file path is perfect. This is a tricky process, and one false move can lead to failure.

  3. Hi Ryan,
can i use V23 on a Mark II nav? I am having trouble finding Ver 21 or 22.
BTW I really enjoy your videos,
    Regards
    Bill

    • Hi Bill,

The MKII has been discontinued for well over a decade, so I don’t know where that software might be available other than your local BMW center. I would highly recommend that you pick up a used MKIV from eBay or somewhere, and update that to V32.
